About

As far back as I can remember I have loved to draw, and I made the decision very early on that I wanted to be an artist. I grew up in Brixton during the 80s and 90s, and whilst growing up, art was both my passion and an escape for me. Something that allowed me to express how I felt without opening my mouth and show others aspects of what I imagine.
I am self taught in the sense that I was not formally trained to draw and paint, my style grew organically as a result of my creative strengths, weaknesses and preferences.

I work in all mediums, but I mainly focus on pen/ink, black and white line drawings. I have a great fondness for intricate detail and precision and these are characteristics that I have become known for. All my work is hand drawn but I use digital colour or effects on occasions. The things that interest me personally and cause certain emotions within me, have an impact on my art. 'African Culture', Cosmology and even Mathematics, feature heavily in the work I produce, but I sometimes create work that falls into none of the these categories, as I love to experiment.

I have fond memories of artwork I grew up with in the homes of family and friends, and I know first hand the impact that these images and the histories I imagined behind them, had on me. To be in a position where I can connect with the consciousness, and create new memories, for this and future generations, is both an honour and a privilege. Art is one of the most important aspects of human civilisation, something to be treasured.
